MOPs Tea Party

The moms are celebrating the end of another great year of MOPs - so why all the KIDS in the room!!?

It's HERE!

This week, I received my new camera in the mail. I think I actually squealed when I opened the mailbox and it was there. I've been wanting it for a long time.... Here are a couple of the photos I've taken as I've been getting aquainted with it.

IMG_0001 - The first photo I took. I actually sat there with the camera in my hand for a while. I think I was afraid to find out that I can't take a good photo with a real camera any more than I could with my point and shoot!

There He Goes!

After a year of trying on and off, a year when each time this happened

there were tears and some yelling and frustration and even some saddness, finally on Saturday it just happened!

Now he's riding like a pro!

(By the way, this photo was taken with my NEW Canon Digital Rebel XSi!!!! It arrived yesterday, along with one of the two lenses I ordered. YAY.)

Mother's Day

What a joyful Mother's Day we had here last week! Breakfast in bed, cards, and love from Tim and the boys (my gift was Wii Fit, which I had picked out and purchased the week before). After church, we headed over to Pam and Vince's house. Baby Mikailah and her mommy and daddy were there. It's sort of odd that Steve, who is my cousin's son and the first person I remember as a baby, now has a baby of his own.

Is she beautiful or what? So, apparently, she's wearing a sweater that Aunt Clara Mae (Mikailah Mae's namesake and something like Great Great Great Aunt) knitted for Steve. I think Steve's parents didn't know if they were having a boy or a girl. Or I hope that was the story.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this photo of Grandpa checking out his little granddaughter.

My little ones looked pretty handsome themselves. Goofy, but handsome:

I think Jeremy might need a puppy of his own!

BUT - What Zachary really needs is a SISTER! (Don't hold your breath...)

Dancing Queen

So, maybe TWO skating parties and 30 minutes of Wii Fit (can you say "yay, early mother's day gift?") is going to prove to be a little too much for me. If I miss anything important tomorrow will anyone come check to see if I'm still alive?

How is it that Zachary has gone 7 1/2 years of his life without entering the doors of Castle Skateland, and today he had not one, but TWO different parties there. He was thrilled to be invited to Allison R's birthday party. It just so happened that it was the same day as Mr. Patten's A/B Honor Roll party at the same place. I think it is the GREATEST that Zachary's karate instructor gives a FREE party each quarter for all of the kids in his school that made all As and Bs. Truth be told, only Zachary skated at the first party, but I did have to expend a lot of energy trying to keep him upright. The second party, the whole family skated. SO FUN! (Well, it was no Western Rollerama, but it'll do.)

All you Flying Pig people (are any of you crazy runners reading this blog, anyhow?) can have your marathons and your half marathons and your relays. A good skating party or two will beat it any day!!

Letting Go

The van has been packed up for a week - full of our baby and toddler clothes to donate to Truly Blessed. Why is this so hard? Someday I need the back of my van back! Those clothes will have to go. :(
